I have enabled pathauto on this site. It's such a great module and hopefully others can see it in action here.

Drupal is known to have a "performance decrease" bug with pathauto when there are tons of nodes. They said they would fix it in 4.7 but that there was a mod to fix it.

Is that bug fixed on vbDrupal?

There is a patch to fix it for 4.6 here (http://drupal.org/node/43712)

I know, actually I was wondering if this fix is already applied to vbdrupal.

Now I guess it isn't :).

It doesn't affect Drupal performance at all, there was no difference with my big drupal site with over 5000 nodes...

It just helps with SEO and is just an advantage ;)

Maybe with 25,000 nodes then you start seeing a change, but I would be surprised people would be up to 25000 nodes, lol...

ok, this some testing and here are the results.
from only 500 url aliases you already have a performance gain, ans you can see this patch scales and the stock 4.6 doesn't

14
Red is the stock 4.6
Green is after applying the patch

For this test I always used the same drupal installation all I changed was entries in the url aliases table (all bogus data)

I don't know if you have experienced any bug with pathauto, but I posted a fix here (http://www.vbdrupal.org/forum/showthread.php?t=170).
