I propose to change the version numbering of vbDrupal in order to create some more clarity.
My proposition is to simply inherit the version number of Drupal and append our patch level.
So, the current 1.3.2 would get the version number: 4.6.6.0
Our next release would become 4.6.6.1, 4.6.6.2 and so on
If drupal releases a new version of 4.6 our next version would become 4.6.7.0
When drupal 4.7 is released and we ported vbDrupal to it it would become: 4.7.0.0
Ofcourse trailing zeros could be discarded. This way we create some more clarity of the drupal version used in vbdrupal.
So, in short it would be <drupal version>.<vbdrupal patch level>
