Unable to select databse

I have a problem :P

I installed everything according to the guide, but when I try to load the drupal index.php file I get the following error : Unable to select database
or something similar.

Any idea what might be wrong?

You probably have not given the write prefix to the config.php or settings.php. Check that out carefully...
