OK .. not all people can simply donate money towards this project however I was somewhat 'nonplussed' to see that only 3 people had donated to the project.

Have no doubt about it, this is a wonderful product once you get your teeth into it (and yes, I am still trying)

I would like to galvanise this community into working constructively to the long-term survival of this project

if you cannot donate any cash then you can always donate some time to achieve certain aspects.

elmuerte it would be good if you could draw up some form of charter or gameplan as to what you would like to achieve

I would like to develop a bi-monthly HTML newsletter (means every 2 months)

from this newsletter it would give users the opportunity to market themselves via this channel and to keep the community informed

these are only ideas I am willing to carry the brunt of this development

your thoughts, please?

if you have something to contribute please say Aye if you would like to be involved etc

ps.. please realise this is no skin off my teeth and I certainly don't need the recognition .. what is attempting to achieve is the long-term survival of this project

We have room for anyone that cannot donate money. We need documentation, assisting users with issues, etc.

I strongly back all4data on this one. If you would like to contribute to vbdrupal please do so.

great sifuhall, apologies for not mentioning you in the post and I know that gman also moderates

in truth I was a bit taken back that there are hardly any donations as such

I appreciate the work being put into this and will be as supportive as I can

I am sure there should be a few others .. off hand I can think of 6 so far

Aye ! Aye !

My communication (english) skills are not the best., so I need an editor to fix my grammer if I write a tutorial for the newsletter.

Do we need new threat called Newsletter Article Suggestions ?

Our community can suggest what they want and perhaps have a poll after a month of collecting article suggestions and one or more of us who have struggled with the issue can write about it in the newsletter. Keeping an archive here or elsewhere will provide a permanent reference.

This may not take the load off elmuerte - perhaps we need a thread where we can work collaboratively with him as a project manager. On a personal note. I am lost, I do not have direction. Which section of code I should look, what am I trying achieve in this section., some questions I need to understand if I am to help elmuerte with the next version. Maybe we can work on version 5 modules while he works on the core.

Tamarian needs to be at the top of that list. It was his idea initially and he started it all.

I need some direction. I will fit the activity into my schedule.

I would like to help where possible, if time permits.

Maybe there is need of a highly visible list of things people can do: topics that need documentation and so on.

I second this !

Correct me if I am wrong. Is vbdrupal-ng the next version of drupal.
Is there any portion of code - I/we can look at to help this version reach a stable state quicker ?

the list of things to do can be found on one of those Druapl 5 threads, and it's on the sourceforge.net task list:
