View Full Version : Considering vbD for major site
Hey there,
I'm considering trying vbD for a major site I run w/ >10,000 forum members and over half a million page views a month. Currently I use a custom php cms that makes calls to vB for certain things.
Are there any examples of large sites running the vbDrupal integration?

Are you on a dedicated server? I'm curious what kind of load the integration cases.

I'll be interested to hear an "official" response, but based on what I've read (I'm not running vbDrupal yet), if you've properly configured things, it really shouldn't add to the server load (since you already have a CMS for the non-forum parts of your site).
If anything, it might lighten the load, as you can configure Drupal to cache content to reduce server load.
Then again, I'm still learning. Take what I say with a grain of salt. ;)

Yes I am on a dedicated server and with watchdog turned off vbdrupal created a much less load than did vbadvanced, nephp, and subdreamer.
With watchdog enabled it had a higher load than vbadvanced, but still less than nephp and subdreamer.
Hey there.
Just an update that I was successfully transitioned to a dedicated server. After an upgrade to 3.5 I'm going to look at creating a drupal theme to match my current site and do this vbD integration. Not sure yet, but its out on the table.
How many people are developing vbD, and at what pace? Also, what kind protocol do you use interms of security patches?
