Looking forward to a vBDrupal 6.0 myself. Using Drupal 6 on several projects already as the theme system is a lot more polished.

Any updates on progress for vbDrupal 6.x?
Many modules have been ported over now, and I'm sure it wont be long before Drupal pushes 5.x to the backburner as they release 7 in the not too distant future |

I've just been exploring and investigating, not programming has been done.
So far it looks like I have to perform a lot of tedious tasks. They changed both the menu system and install/update system. For the rest I didn't see much changes that could reduce the changes to the drupal core.

I think it is important for this project that new version is relaesed soon - otherwise people might be hesistant to rely on this project as the basis of their projects, because they feel a little doubt if the vbdrupal will be upgraded in future as new versions of vbulletin and drupal are released.

I tend to disagree with you on that point. While I think that coding should begin on the Drupal 6 branch, I don't think it's imperative for the project to be released anytime soon. Right now there are still a small number of modules in the grand scheme of things that support D6, so for most people D5 is the branch that they would want to install anyway.
As long as D5 is maintained by both Drupal and here at vbDrupal then I think there isn't too big of a rush on vbDrupal 6. But if it's a matter of lack of resources for elmuerte as to why vbDrupal 6 coding has not begun, then I think we all need to put our money where our mouth is. |
